Slippery Snow!

When we went for our walk this morning, it was snowing! It was very slippery, but Millie, being the good girl she is, walked steadily with me and pulled in the other direction to stop me falling over!

By lunchtime, it was raining. Fortunately, this meant it wasn't slippery! However, it still meant no training outside. We'll have to see what it's like tomorrow!

She's now lying next to me, having just watched 'Turner and Hooch'!

Just enough snow to make Millie happy...

We had a bit of snow here today. It wasn't much, but we ended up going for a walk in it! Millie couldn't believe her luck and as soon as we got to the grass she was ploughing her head through it and running around like a puppy on the end of the lead!

Hyper Millie and Dog Training!

Millie has been completely hyper today! She's been running around everywhere and with everything she shouldn't have!

Fortunately, she was a good girl at dog training! We did a few different things, all of which she did well. When we got there, one of the trainers was telling an owner how naughty Millie used to be but how good she is now!

A Quiet Day!

We haven't done any training today. I thought Millie should have a little rest, I don't want her getting fed up of training (though I'm sure she never would)!

We've had quite a few cuddles, though Millie's still run off with a load of stuff she shouldn't have!

We also had a trial run fitting the barrel etc into another car, it was a perfect fit!

We're going to go to the doctors again next weekend to do a bit more training!

Lots of Training!

Millie and I have done lots of training today!

Yesterday, Millie got a toy trolley which she's got to push. We tried it for the first time today and she did well considering she'd never done it!

We went to the doctors car park with the barrel, scooter and skateboard to practise. Again, Millie did these, and her other tricks very well. She was very eager and willing and was happy to do all her tricks!

We also did a few tricks on our walk; Millie jumped over my leg, through my arms, and did a handstand up another wall!

She's tired out now!

I also made another video of Millie, in slow motion! I tried to use mostly her new tricks, though there are a couple of older videos in there too!

Quackers!

Millie ran off with a slipper today, as usual! She held it so it looked like a beak!

Millie the Theif!

Yesterday, Millie stole half a big of Mini Cheddars! Today, she's run off with bluetac, lip balm and an envelope!

A cold night dog training!

It's been freezing all day today. Millie would know because to her horror I made her wear her coat on our walks this morning and thin evening!

This evening we went dog training. There were only four of us in the class. We had to do a retreive to start with. Millie did this very well, though at one point she tried to stop and skidded along the floor, crashing straight into the cupboard! She didn't hurt herself and it didn't put her off! We then had to do it with a dumbbell. To start with Millie gave it nicely, though she was meant to hold it! She then refused to give it! A bit of persuasion with a treat worked well though! She had to go to her mark, which she did better backwards than forwards! We also did A-recalls and stays, both of which Millie did well! The rest of the dogs haven't passed their Gold award yet so their owners wanted to go out of site but decided it was too cold outside. I didn't bother with Millie because she's already passed the Gold and I know she can do it. To save them from going outside, they hid behind the curtain! The dogs all knew they were there!

More tricks!

We filmed a couple more tricks for the next Happy Dog award today. For one of them, Millie was meant to walk around two buckets in a figure of 8. She did this but then went and stood with her front paws in the bucket!

It was so sweet I thought I'd turn it into a trick! Now she goes 'in' the bucket and spins around in it!

Lots of Walking!!

Millie and I have walked miles today, even more miles than normal! It was a nice afternoon so we went along the main road as an extra to our normal walk! We saw all the dogs Millie doesn't like for her to bark at and all the people she gets treats off of, so she really enjoyed it!

We did a bit of training this morning and while we were on one of our walks. Millie was so eager to jump when we were on the walk that she was running up to me and jumping before I'd given her anything to jump over!

Friday 16 January 2015

A few tricks!

Millie and I practised a few tricks today! We did quite a lot of jumping and then filmed some more tricks for the level 4 Happy Dog Tricks award! We've got a few more to go and then the video will be ready to submit. Millie was very good!

Here's a video of one of the new tricks she learnt for the award. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF0DgA43sYs

Performing Licence and to be in a Magazine!

Millie and I got our animal performance licence sorted today! That means we're able to do any show or TV programme!

Also, Millie's going to be in a magazine for the Best Friends award! I wrote a nice article all about her which will be published in next months issue!

Millie, behave!

Millie's being cheeky this evening! She's gone and licked out a lot of mugs and torn up a packet!

Back at Dog Training Classes!

Today was our first day back dog training after Christmas. It was nice to see everyone again and Millie was very happy to see Ruby!

We did some heelwork which Millie dos very well. We also did normal recalls, stops and stays. Millie was very good in all of it!

Fortunately for Millie, I've run out of gravy bones, so I took sausages instead! I don't normally take them there as they're too high value but Millie didn't mind at all!

Millie's also stolen numerous tissues today!

Wednesday 7 January 2015

Millie's a very clever dog!

We haven't done a lot training wise recently, as I've been very busy doing revision. However, we did do a bit today and Millie was very good! The other day I taught her 3 hew heelwork positions for our HTM routines so we practised them a bit and also the trick where Millie pulls a toy.

I was doing some more revision today and got an assistant!

Two New Tricks!

Millie and I have done quite a bit of training today.

She perfected one new trick, putting a toy on a chair about 2 metres away from me.

She also started to learn another one. It was meant to be pulling alon a child's toy. Since we don't have one of them, I put an old lead around the wheels of the small skateboard that Joe uses. It took a couple of attempts to get her used to pulling something that dragged behind her. I made it a real game so she enjoyed doing it. Within a few more attempts, she had got the hang of it and was happily pulling it across the floor!

We went outside and did some mountain boarding. Millie was very good. While we were out there, we also did some other tricks. Millie did a handstand up the wall, some spins and twists, and lots of jumping, which she loved!

She's such a clever girl and really enjoyed all her training and learning the new tricks!

Friday 2 January 2015

Crisp Theif!

We were having lunch today, and there was an open packet of crisps on the table. When nobody was really paying attention, Millie took her chance and grabbed the whole packet! Needless to say, she then ate them! I wonder if they went down well with the stollen she stole the other day...

This evening, we've been working on a new trick. It's not an amazing trick, just one for the next Happy Dog award. Millie has to place an item on a chair away from me. She hasn't quite mastered it yet but she picked it up really quickly and knows what she's meant to do!
